Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Customized group programs

Customized English language training programs can be arranged for groups of 15 or more students. This group must be organized in your country prior to applying to our customized programs. These programs are made to fit the length and needs of the group.

Intensive English programs

Our highly qualified instructors teach with a task-based, integrated-skills approach. Students are exposed to a variety of learning contexts and opportunities through contact with their instructor, in- and out-of-class reinforcement learning activities, independent-study periods and cultural-immersion trips/industry visits.

Our English for Professional Purposes programs are designed to:

  • Improve students’ command of the English language.
  • Develop an understanding of written and oral English for academic or professional purposes in fields such as:
    • education
    • event management
    • finance
    • health services
    • information systems security
    • international business
    • mechanical engineering
    • mobile computing
    • resources management
    • transportation

Our Two-Week Canadiana Program (summer or winter) allows participants to improve their English skills and to engage in a variety of activities in the heart of Canada. Activities are tailored to your group's age and needs and can include:

  • arts
  • culture
  • outdoor excursions
  • science and technology
  • sports
  • theme parks
